PETERSFIELD.]—THE WEATHER.—On Tuesday evening last, a great quantity of rain fell for several hours in this locality, also loud claps of thunder were heard, with vivid flashes of lightning, and continued at intervals during the night, which we trust will be beneficial to the newly-sown barley, oats, and other cereal crops. The wheat plant is looking remarkably well in this locality, and a continuation of suitable weather will bring, we trust, an abundant crop of all kinds early to maturity.
