     The following lines were enclosed by female friend in a letter, at the contents of which she believed her sister would be curious enough to peep:—

 FORBIDDEN FRUIT!
OR, THE ORIGIN AND EFFECTS OF CURIOSITY,

‟If you will take the pains to look,
You’ll find within that sacred book,
An emblem of a curious mind
To a pillar of standing salt refined.
Oh! woman, what a standing blot,
Was there recorded of Mistress Lot!

Tell Sophy, or any other woman,
That curious knowledge is so common,
Since Eden’s Tree of Knowledge stood.
Bearing the finest fruit of wood.
That frailty is handed down
From the fall of Eve on Eden’s ground.”
