PETERSFIELD

THE WEATHER.—The wheat and other crops have begun to manifest great change in consequence of the great heat that has prevailed during the past week. The golden promise of a very productive harvest is displaying itself. The wheat harvest will soon commence. There is considerable improvement in the appearance of the hops. The potatoes are now selling as low as 4d. gallon.

On Tuesday last the 4lb. loaf received the inadequate reduction of only ½d. The great fall in the price of wheat demanded a greater reduction.
