PETERSFIELD.

The wheat harvest has commenced in this locality in right earnest, and should the weather continue favorable for a few weeks, heavy crops will be secured in fine condition.

THE CROPS.—The warm showers during the week have considerably improved the standing crops of corn. Reaping has pretty generally commenced in this locality, and the accounts from different agriculturists are most gratifying. A continuance of fine weather will ensure the harvesting of large and heavy crops of wheat during the next fortnight. Reaping machinists are at present set much in requisition, the only person now availing himself of that mode of cutting in this neighbourhood being Mr. Louch, of the Manor Farm, Buriton, near Petersfield.
