Whereupon it was proposed to the Meeting by Mr. BASS of Brighton, seconded by Mr. PHILLIPS, of Southampton, and

Resolved, that, in the opinion of this Meeting, the Cheese Market proposed to be held at Bishopstoke Station is inconsistent with public benefit. That the Fair now held in the Towns of Winchester, Fareham, Romsey, and Lymington ought to be continued as heretofore. That should a convenient Cheese Market be established at SALISBURY, this Meeting, so far as it can, will attend and encourage the same; and that a Committee be appointed to confer with the Corporation of that City as to the best mode of carrying these objects into effect.

It was then proposed by Mr. BASS, seconded by Mr. W HUTCHINSON, of Winchester, and

Resolved that such Committee do consist of the following Persons :—

Mr. JOS GEORGE, RomseyMr. C WRIGHT, Winchester
Mr. ROGERS, WinchesterMr. C J PHILLIPS, Southampton
Mr. J G BASS, BrightonMr. D HARRISS, Fareham
Mr. G BAKER, Portsea

And that the Committee be requested to Report their Proceedings to a GENRAL MEETING, to be held at the White Horse Inn, at Romsey, at eight o’clock in the evening of Friday, the 7th of November next.

It was then proposed by Mr. HUTCHINSON, seconded by Mr. HARRIS, and

Resolved, that these Resolutions (signed by the Chairman on behalf of the Meeting) be advertised in the Salisbury, Portsmouth, Winchester, and Southampton papers, together with a copy of the Protest laid before this Meeting and of the signatures thereto.

JOSIAH GEORGE, Chairman.

The chairman having left the chair.

Thanks were unanimously voted to him for acceding to the wishes of the Meeting in taking the Chair, which he had filled with ability and urbanity, to the great satisfaction of the Meeting.
