PETERSFIELD.

The town and neighbourhood of Petersfield has sustained, during the past week, a serious loss in the death of Capt. Askew, R.N., of Broadbush. The deceased was held in high estimation by persons of all classes, and was eminently distinguished for his unswerving integrity, as well as for his extensive, though unostentatious generosity. He had somewhat recently taken his seat on the Petersfield bench of magistrates. His decease has cast a general gloom over the town.
