TOLLS TO BE LET
Winchester & Petersfield Turnpike Road

     NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,—That the TOLLS arising at the several Toll Gates and Bars upon the Turnpike Road, called or known by the names of the Winchester Gate, Bramdean Gate, and Beckham Lane Gate and Bars, will be LET by AUCTION, together or separately, as shall be determined on by the majority of Trustees present, to the best bidder, at the house of Frederick Daniels, called the White Swan Inn, at Winchester, on Friday the 30th day of November next, between the hours of eleven in the forenoon and three in the afternoon, for one year, in the manner directed by the General Turnpike Road Acts, which Tolls together produced the last year £387  14s., and will be put up at that sum.

     Whoever happens to be the best bidder must, at the same time, pay one month’s rent in advance of the rent at which such Tolls may be set, and give security, with sufficient sureties, to the satisfaction of the Trustees of the said Turnpike Road, for the payment of the rest of the money monthly.
